Day 98 (a little over 3 Months since the accident)

(Home 37 Days)

Joshua & Macie at Elza & James' Wedding

I know it has been a while since I have updated this site, but a week after Joshua came home we (Joshua and me) came to the agreement that the next post to this website would be written by him. I have been hounding him for one ever since! :) We should have made you all aware of this, but to be honest we did not think it would take us this long to get you an update. Going forward there will be less updates on the site in order to give Joshua a little privacy during his continued healing process. Any major changes in Joshua’s health will be posted, so if there no posts you can be confident that Joshua is still on the long road to recovery.

The family is very thankful for the continued moral support that has been given to Joshua and the entire family during this period.

Thanks,
Bobby

So with out further adieu here is Joshua’s Message for March 5th, 2005:

First off I would like to give you an update on how I’m doing. Ever since I left Fresno I have been keeping up with my therapy and also have enrolled in a Adult School class. The Physical and Occupational therapy is helping me with my more detailed skills and strength on my left side ( left arm and leg.) The Adult school class was recommended by my Speech Therapist at Children’s Hospital, it is to help my brain heal. The Class is also to get me ready to re-enroll in college. I’m hoping to be ready to go back next semester, and am doing my best to prepare myself. I will continue meeting with my Physical and Occupational for at least another month. In a few weeks I will be returning to Children’s hospital for some minor surgery to remove the G-Tube that was placed in my stomach back in December.

Second I would like to apologize for the delay in providing an update to this site. I know many people have come here to checkup on me and leave me messages. I appreciate all the prayers and blessing that you have all given me. I don’t think I would have made it this far without them. I have read every guestbook entry at least twice, and I would like to thank each of you for those messages of encouragement.

Third I would like to send special thanks to all the people who helped me at Children’s hospital and Antelope Valley hospital. Without the dedicated care of each person who helped me I could not have walked out of the hospital and be home today.

Lastly, I hope to continue posting to this web site from time to time to let people know how I’m doing! I will continue to check my Guestbook.

Thank you and God bless you all.
Joshua
