Josh,
We are so PROUD OF YOU!!!You have come so far..I admire YOU for your strength
and everything that you have overcome..Never lose sight of everything that you
have accomplished, you have made such an improvement in these last few
months..God has most definetely answered many prayers throughout this time but I
truly believe he has rested his hand on your shoulder giving you the strength to
overcome so many obstacles..Know that Faith, Love and Family are three things
that everyone should hold dear to their hearts, and you have been blessed with
all three..I really feel if I didnt have these three things in my life I would
definetely be lost..I know it may sometimes seem as if life has a way of
creating these awful road blocks but somehow, someway these road blocks end up
being building blocks in our lives...Stay strong kiddo, always keep your head
up, and know that whatever you wish for is never far away..Never forget how
special you are to ALL of us and that we love you so much..
Lots of Hugs & Kisses,

Joshua,
I don't even know where to begin. 60 days have passed and with each passing day
our family has recieved blessings. You are an amazing person who as come soooo
far in their therapy. It is really something to admire. I have some mixed
feelings though, I am excited for you to be returning home and in the same
breath I am saddened to know that you will not be here to have lunch with
everyday. I want you to know that I am so happy that I have been blessed with
the time we have had together. You are my brother by chance, but my friend by
choice. I would have never wished for the circumstances which we became friends,
you know that I would have traded places with you any day. However, we must
remember that everything happens for a reason. And for whatever reason God has
blessed you with a second chance. Know now that you can achieve ANYTHING you
want. Know that you have the support of family, we will always be here-through
thick and thin. And like I have said a thousand times before if you ever need
anything, any time of the day you can just call me. I love you.
Your Sis,

Hey Josh,
I thought this was something you would like to hear or maybe something you
could think about if you are having a hard day.....When my mom was a teenager
her sister was in a very bad car accident from which she suffered major head
trauma. (Much like your injuries) She was in comas and couldn't even talk when
she came out of it. A few weeks back when my mom saw your first pictures on the
website she was so amazed at how good you looked. Seeing as she had previously
experienced something like this and has seen someone not looking too good at
your stage in recovery I valued her opnion a little more than others. She was
telling me that you looked sooo healthy and so much better than her sister at
the same stage in her recovery. You have actually already came further than her
sister did or ever will. She will never be the same person again. That being
said its so nice to hear that you realize how lucky you are and that God has
given you another chance to still acheive everything you had ever planned for
your future. Not everyone is that lucky. So I love to hear that you are so
determined to get all you muscles strengthened and are thinking of and looking
for things that could help you out. You have such a great attitude that I know
you are going to be one of those people who goes beyond what anyone thought
could be possible after such an injury. Keep up the hard work and remeber that
you are so lucky and have acheived so much already. God Bless.

Dear Meneses Family,
As I visit your site to get updates on Josh, I am touched by your families
strength and the outpore of love from family, friends, and well wishers. Our
family four years ago with the birth of our daughter had our faith tested when
our daughters well being was in question. We were surrounded by doctors with
awfull prognosis and felt like our world had been shattered. It was our family
and friends and the prayers from the community that got us through our difficult
time. My daughter has over come many obsticles and has proven her doctors wrong
when they said she wouldn't walk or talk. We find ourselves very blessed for our
beautiful daughter Faith and we take one day at a time. Josh seems like an
amazing young man who also, will amaze doctors with his recover. Keep the faith
and we will continue to keep Josh and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Hey Josh its your sister. I thought I would finally sign on here and leave
you a note. I just wanted to tell you that you are an amazing person and an
example to all of dedication and persistence. I know that there is a reason for
everything and this is all part of something bigger than us, bigger than
anything we could ever imagine. I have been blessed over the past couple of
weeks during your recovery to spend more time with you then we have over the
last year. I thank God that you are here with us to make us laugh and smile. I
am even more grateful for the amazing relationship that we have developed during
your recovery. I would of course preferred that we not be in the situation that
we are, however, I am sooo glad that something so wonderful has come of it. I
finally have the relationship with you, my brother, that I have longed for for
so long. You are an wonderful person who I still see as the cute, little guy
following me and my teammates around at all of the tournaments we traveled to. I
can't wait to see you playing again. Keep up the good work. God will continue to
bless you and us. And before you know it we will all be celebrating your
homecoming. I love you. Your Sis, Jenn

I have been praying for your family & asking others for prayers ever since
Michelle told me what happen. Althugh I am sure this seems impossible remember
God does not give you anything you can not handle. After his recovery this will
seem like a big blur. You will make new & better memories.

Hey, Josh, it's Vin and Steve's mom, what is it you kids always call me 'P'.
I wanted you to know how much I have been thinking about you and praying for
you. On Thanksgiving Day I was given a prayer bracelet as a gift from my aunt. I
put in a prayer for my family and put it on that very day. I was wearing it when
we went to the football game on Friday. I even held it and said a little prayer
as you and Vin climbed into the truck and took off to the desert that afternoon.
Made me so nervous that I wasn't going out there with all you kids this time.
When Vin called me at 6:30 Sunday morning, we were devasted, just as everyone
was. I added another prayer for you to my prayer box and was praying rosary
after rosary for you for days. My prayer for you remains in my prayer box and
not one day has passed that I do not pray for your continued recovery. Each day
that I called your mom's cell phone and heard the miraculous progress you were
making, I knew God was answering all our prayers. You are such a blessing and a
miracle. My boys miss you so very much, they love you dearly. Vin had faith all
along that you were going to come out fine, and that God had bigger plans for
you in this life. You are such a shining miracle to us, and watching you recover
with the incredible love and support of your wonderful family has been such an
inspiration. We cannot wait for you to make a full recovery, and be running
around this house again with the boys. I can't wait to wake up on a Saturday
morning and have to step over you and the other six boys that are snoozing all
over my carpet and couches. Have a Happy New Year, Sweetie. Love, 'P'

late. Heidi says she needs you to come help clean up the racking barn for her.
Kindra made out your last check that you didn't get yet, but Bobby say's to bad
we used it today for pizza. (ha ha). Eric wants you to hurry and get back to
work so he can give you a hard time. We took a picture so you can remember who
we are, apparently you are forgetting some things these days. We wil send it to
your email address. Be sure to look at it everyday and wave back to us. Be
strong your one tough dude, we know that in no time you will be back helping us
at the farm show again. Lots of Love and prayers. Bobby, Kindra, Sami, Eric,

Josh,
I first read this poem when I was in the 5th or 6th grade. Since then, everytime
I have needed a little help to persevere this has been my weapon of choice.
Hopefully it will prove to be a positive tool for you.
I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.
D.H. Lawrence
Keep working hard, and you will be home in know time.

So when you are lonely, remember it's true
Somebody, somewhere is thinking of you.

It is hard to believe that things can change in life so fast. Eric told me a
few weeks ago about your accident. I read about how you are doing on the web
site and it sounds great. Since I left Ag Source, I don't get much of a chance
to see you guys any more, that sucks. Hey I hope you feel better & better every

Josh,
Your picture takes me back to that cute little boy we enjoyed at all the soccer
functions, etc. Your beautiful smile and your respectfulness was so pure and
appreciated. You are now a handsome young man and having to deal with a horrific
trauma but I have no doubt you will fully recover and and have to fight off all
the girls.
You are so blessed to have a wonderful family that will see you through every
step of your healing process. Your Mom and Dad are beautiful people with hearts
of gold as well as your sister (We're here for you Jen) and brothers.
Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Please know that if
there is ANYTHING at all we can do for you we are here for you, anything at all.
God Bless you Joshua & Meneses Family

We were devastated to learn of Josh's accident. We just found out Thursday,
after talking to Carlos down the street. I stopped in to see Blake, and let him
know that he can come over any time if he needs anything. (I also took him a
plate of brownies). Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! God bless you and

Hey Josh
Have only just found this website, and it has been a godsend. It is so strange
being so far away when something so tragic happens, but your recovery has been
truly awe-inspiring.
England is fully behind you on this one Josh, (despite your soccer team dumping
us out of Euro 2004 this summer) - your still a great guy, and were an awesome
neighbour. I hope to see you in the Summer when I come over to visit, it
would'nt be the same without you.
Merry Christmas Josh - hope to see you soon

Madrinha, Padrinho & Cousins
Just a small note sending you LOTS of "Love" and "Prayer"..You are always on our
minds, everyday we pray for all of you to have the strength you need to endure
everything that comes your way. The road to recovery may seem difficult at
times, but know that after the rain there is always sunshine...
Stay stong Josh you have made such a huge improvement in such a short time. It
truly is unreal, can you believe you've had "ME" speechless..Do you know how
long O.J and Tio Olavo have waited for me to be speechless?!? Bobby almost had
them convinced to do to me what he did to Precious.. :}
On a serious note I have been in the medical field for awhile and I will be the
first to say..
"I know MIRACLES do occur although sometimes it dosent seem like it is often
enough..As bad as this may sound I think I may have taken for granted the times
I have seen a miracle happen until it happened within my family.."
What an eye opener..I am so greatful that our families faith, love and power of
prayer is so strong because I believe it is an essential part of the healing
process and it has contributed to the Miracle of having you with us Josh..
Just remember you are so loved and we can't wait till your all home..Missin you
all lots..
Love Always, Michelle, Tony, Tio Olavo, O.J, and Lorie

Josh (Cocoon),
I have so many memories with you that go as far back as to the good ol' Oak
Valley days, and you have always been a great person. I heard news about you
from Eric that night and I never slept..I just stayed up and prayed the whole
night. I'd never been so worried. God and all his angels have surely been taking
extra care of you. And I know that you have a Guardian Angel that's meant just
to watch over you...that favors you very much because what you survived through
is a true *miracle*. We all miss you at home very much; it's not the same w/o
you. I don't know if you even realize how many people love you, but it's so
wonderful that your brother created this site so now you'll know just how many

Josh
In Luke Chapter 5 17-26 .. it talks about how one day when Jesus was out
teaching to a crowd of people some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a
stretcher... unable to reach Jesus. Eventually these men just holding this man
pushing through this huge crowd was spotted and Jesus was like Hey! you know..
come here with him..He told the men "As for you, your sins are forgiven" See..
the men were feeling that this man will NEVER be healed from is paralyzation and
Jesus knew exactly what they were thinking and he was just like listen.. I know
what you're thinking about this man and that he's not gonna make it and I just
want you to know that you are forgiven.. Jesus looked over at the man on the
stretcher and said "Rise and walk". The man on the stretcher immediately got up,
grabbed his own stretcher and walked off in amazement...
This passage just reminds me of you because You have overcome anyone's doubt for
your recovery. You have proved to everyone one of God's amazing healing
ministries. We are all still praying for you Josh.. Stay strong

Good health and life are very fragile. When such a tragic accident happens to
someone as young and full of life as Joshua, it truely brings to light just how
precious the moments of each day are.
Joshua, with the strength and courage of your loved ones to lean on and your
youth and zest for life, it is my prayer that the struggle of each day brings
you closer to a full recovery. That which does not break us makes us stronger.
May the strength of family love and unity grow with each step of your recovery.

know.

Joshua, we are so glad you are improving, and we know you will be come home
soon. It feels like it was only 2 days ago we were holding you as father Minhoto
poured the baptismal waters over you little head. At that time you received the
Holy Spirit and the Grace of God. Not no long after that we were there to see
you receive The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ on the day of your First
Communion, and, only a few months ago you were once more blessed by doing your
Confirmation and receiving all the blessings of the Holy Spirit. So, you see,
Joshua, God has been with you since you were a little baby. But not only, God,
also, all those around you that made all these events possible. You were neneve
alone, even on those moments you felt alone, God was always with you. I hope as
you recover you will have some quiet time to listen to God's voice and hear what
has to tell you. I am sure the first thing He will say is "I Love You Joshua".
Orlanda...I thought about you as I was reading this note in church:Believing vs.
understanding: When Gabriel told Mary that she would give birth to the Son of
God, she didn't understand. But instead of doubting, she simply said: be it done
to me according to our word(luke1:38) Mary knew that we don't have to understand
to believe that God can do what we cannot even imagine. Stay strong. We love
your all. Love, Sao.

*Josh,*
Hey sweetheart. Hearing about your accident just broke my heart. You were at my
house just a few weeks before, and it didn't seem real. I didn't doubt for one
second that you weren't going to be okay. You're such a strong person and I
can't wait until you recover so we can eat McDonald's and drive to your soccer
games talking about the most off the wall things. I love ya Josh... you're in my
prayers.

Josh,
It is fantastic to hear that you are on the road to a full recovery. I have not
had a day that has gone by since your accident that I have not shed a few tears.
At first I was afraid of what might have happened but now they are tears of joy
whenever I hear or now read (thank you Bobby) about your continued progress. It
is times like these that we realize how precious life and friends truly are.
When I think back I remember two little boys on an eight-year old baseball team
that scored the winning run for the championship. You and Kevin have been
friends for a very long time, and I just want you to know that ALL of our family
has been praying for you and YOUR family through this whole ordeal. We continue
to pray for your speedy recovery and look forward to you coming home asap. And,
yes I do believe that whenever people gather in His name, God hears and answers.
Miracles can and do happen when you truly believe.

Josh,
Times like these we realize that there is not much that we can do but wait and
pray. It was while I was thinking and praying for you that I came up with this
poem.
Prayers For Joshua
Prayers...
They come from near and far
Just to show how special you are
We all must wait
As you live out your fate
It is through faith and hope
That we all are able to cope
As we wait for you to wake from your sleep
We think of all the words we didn't speak
You are teaching us to slow our pace
Teaching us to breath, that life is not a race
It is during this time that we feel the stregnth of love,
It is now that we must bow our heads just to look up above,
The Lord is near, the Lord knows our pain
He will send us a rainbow, after the rain
We find the paitence untill we see that smile again
Untill you can tell us how it was and where you've been
We think of just how much a prayer can do
It's easy when it's said on the behalf of you
This chain of prayers started with one link
It has multiplied larger than anyone would think
Prayers..
They come from near and far
Just to show how special you are.
god bless,
Melanie

Joshua,
I know this is going to totally sound corny and all emotional, but I want you to
know that this is really from the bottom of my heart and every word has a true
meaning.
You never really and truly know how much someone is a part of your life until
that part of you is threatened. When I woke up on Sunday morning (11/28/04) to
the news that you were seriously injured, just as all of us heard, it was like
someone tore out a piece of my heart. Even though we weren’t the closest, you
are still family, and family stick together in good times and especially in bad.
And even though I came back to school, just as everyone else must still continue
with there life, no matter how hard it was knowing we couldn’t do anything but
wait and pray, I know that all the tears and praying were worth it. God has seen
the strength of our family and friends, and have answered are prayers, by
letting you back into our lives.
And what I think hurts the most is that us cousin’s went out the night of your
accident, and we were laughing and having a good time, but you were missing. Who
was to know that Thanksgiving might have been the last time I could see you? And
did we really get to talk? When accidents like this happen, we really think
about all the missed opportunities to really talk and have a meaningful
conversation with those we love. But that is human nature, we take for grant
what we have, and we think we aren’t as fragile as we really are.
We all make decisions in life that could make or break us, and they all have
consequences, be it positive or negative, but the truth is that you are just to
young to make some of those decisions. No one can judge you for those decisions,
but we just hope you learn from them and don’t make them again, because you had
to learn the hard way. And even though it is you lesson to learn, we all learned
it with you.
I want you to know that we all love you, and you have many friends that care for
you and are waiting for your full recovery. It is amazing how many people can
come together in a time of need.
I love you and miss you bunches, I hope to see you as soon as possible,
Your cousin,
Jessica
" There are many changes that a human being goes through in the short span of
time in which we are on this planet. We see heartache, pain, and frustration. We
also see happiness and all other form of emotions that are designed to lift us
up.
Some people always want the emotions that lift us up, to be on a high for their
whole life. But you cannot have life without the low, low and high go hand in
hand; they never walk alone.
The one thing we can do to help the low is to be there and walk hand in hand
with the person experiencing that low; two steps in front of them, to clear the
way, but at the same time one step behind, to catch them if they fall."

Josh,
Where do I begin..July 24th...19 years ago I received a birthday gift that could
never be replaced..You are a very special part of our family, our lives.. I have
always held my cousins dear to me most all of us share relationships much like
siblings..Each one of us holds a special link to a strong chain..Our parents
raised all of us up so close together, and I believe this was all for a special
reason..The bonds and the closeness that we all share is something so
precious... We as a family have had our share of tough and trying times but with
prayer we were able to endure and lean upon eachother for the strength we needed
to get through it..These times only brought all of US even closer
together..Having the opportunity to see you on Wednesday 12/01/04 and being able
to hear that Doctor's are hopeful for a full recovery gave me a sense of
relief..Although in the back of my head I knew with all things its going to take
time but in my heart I knew everything was going to be okay..Throughout this
week all I prayed for was for God to rest his hand on your shoulder and give you
strength to come back to us and that he would help all of us to be strong for
you..Josh there was a rosary on Monday 11/30/04 at St. Al's for you and it was
then that I realized not only are you loved by all of your family but many
friends also..I am so greatful for all of these people and their faith in God
and prayer..Joshua, you are in our thoughts and prayers always..We Love You!!

Heyyyy there Shorty =P
Well I can't explain how happy I was to hear the good news about you being able
to have a full recovery. When I went into your room to visit you, I was
literally this [] close to jumping on the bed to give you a hug... but I was
authorized not to do so..(you got lucky :)..)
Sooo I settled for holding your hand instead. Yea, I think it was the first
times since we were wee lil youngins that we did that, if ever.
But, I was greatful for being given the chance to be that close to you again.
While I was holding your hand, in my head I was telling God how much I loved
you, praying my heart out that you would soon be okay.. and it was then you
squeezed my hand, bent your elbow and held my hand up.. all that could come out
of my mouth was.."Oh my God...look!" lol I almost peed my pants =|..Buuuut I
couldn't because I had cried too dang much =P My sister and your mom (Tia
Orlanda) got a good laugh out of it, I'm sure..
I'm a bit ashamed to say that I never took the power of prayer as seriously as I
have since our family heard the news about your accident and the condition you
were in. It was also a bit hard for me to believe that prayers were actually
heard and answered. But now I know that the power of prayer is great, and with
enough faith and love anything can happen. The trials that our family has gone
through is living proof of that.
Since I decided to type an essay up here, I'm going to stop. I miss and love you
so much Josh... Come home soon <3
Love Always.
Shorty :)
